lecture series “Aspects of Sustainability” runs until the end of July
Erfurt, 7 July, 2025. IU International University of Applied Sciences (IU) is currently inviting participants to its public online lecture series "Aspects of Sustainability." The event series offers a platform for discussion on the future of sustainable construction and architecture. It is aimed not only at industry professionals but is open to all interested parties – including external guests and non-architects.
Renowned experts from science and practice provide insights into how built space can respond to the climate and resource crisis – through innovative design, research and collaboration.
After a successful launch in June, the series of exciting lectures continues until the end of July. Further dates are planned for the upcoming winter semester, starting in October 2025.
About the series “Aspects of Sustainability”
The lecture series reflects the current discourse on the transformation of the construction industry and demonstrates how sustainability can be conceived, researched, and implemented in architecture and the construction industry today and in the future. Given the construction industry's high climate relevance, IU is placing particular emphasis on future-oriented approaches and innovative practices.
The lectures will illuminate various – sometimes contradictory – perspectives, from experimental research to realised projects. They will illuminate the ecological, technical, cultural, and social dimensions of sustainable design.
